Senior Operation Manager

1. ULD Building and Load Optimization

·        Develop and implement ULD building strategies and guidelines to optimize space utilization and maximize cargo load factors.

·        Collaborate with cargo planners, loadmasters, and ground handling agents to determine the most efficient loading configurations for different aircraft types.

·        Ensure compliance with ULD weight and balance limitations, as well as aircraft manufacturer's guidelines.

·        Stay updated with industry trends and technologies related to ULD building and load optimization.

2. Load Planning and Offload Risk Mitigation

·        Build effective load plans that prioritize cargo integrity, weight distribution, and compliance with safety regulations.

·        Analyze shipment characteristics, such as weight, dimensions, and special handling requirements, to create balanced load plans.

·        Collaborate with cargo sales, customer service, and ground operations to understand customer requirements and minimize offload risks.

·        Utilize load planning software and tools to optimize load distribution and minimize potential offload situations.

3. Customs Clearance and Handling

·        Ensure timely customs clearance and handling for export and in-transit shipments.

·        Collaborate with customs authorities and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements.

·        Coordinate with freight forwarders, agents, and customs brokers to facilitate smooth clearance processes.

·        Monitor and address any issues or delays in customs clearance to minimize shipment disruptions.

4. On-Time Cargo Operations

·        Ensure on-time cargo acceptance, loading onto aircraft, unloading from aircraft, and releasing of cargo.

·        Collaborate with ground handling agents, ramp operations, and airlines to streamline cargo operations and minimize turnaround times.

·        Implement efficient processes and workflows to expedite cargo operations without compromising safety and compliance.

·        Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics related to cargo operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

5. Supervise Cargo Operations:

·        Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of cargo operations, including cargo acceptance, documentation, tracking, handling, and ULD management.

·        Ensure compliance with air cargo regulations, security protocols, and industry standards.

·        Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as airlines, freight forwarders, ground handling agents, customs authorities, and regulatory agencies, to ensure smooth and efficient cargo operations.

·        Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cargo handling, ULD building, load planning, and shipment processing.

6. Ensure Safety and Security:

·        Develop and implement safety and security protocols for cargo operations, in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

·        Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate operational risks.

·        Stay updated with air cargo security regulations, trends, and emerging technologies.

·        Collaborate with security agencies and participate in security-related meetings and initiatives.

7. Customer Service and Relationship Management:

·        Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining effective communication with clients and addressing their inquiries, concerns, and special requests.

·        Foster strong relationships with key customers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders.

·        Monitor customer satisfaction and implement strategies to enhance service quality and meet customer expectations.

8. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

·        Establish key performance indicators.

9. For cargo operations, including on-time performance, cargo acceptance rates, clearance times, and customer satisfaction.

·        Monitor and analyze operational data to track performance, identify trends, and propose efficiency improvements.

·        Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting operational performance, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

·        Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

·        Extensive experience in air cargo operations, preferably with a focus on ULD building, load optimization, load planning, and timely shipment processing.

·        Sound knowledge of air cargo regulations, security procedures, customs clearance processes, and industry standards.

·        Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

·        Proficiency in load planning software and tools.

·        Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

·        At least 5 years of experience in logistics industry.

·        General knowledge of aviation, dangerous goods, aviation security, safety management system. IATA

·        Good English, computer science, aviation knowledge.
