Front line service point personnel who deliver various customer-focused services to drive sales and maximize profits for a retail establishment. Who work closely with Retail Supervisor to ensure sales targets are achieved.
Entailing fulfilling a range of customer service requirements to ensure customers have an enjoyable retail experience.
Receiving shipments face to face with customers at Service points including recommendation, describing and demonstrating products & services
Promoting sales by employing cross selling and up selling techniques.
Involving overseeing the processing of debit/credit card transaction as well as collection of cash payments for product purchase.
Handling refunds or exchange for product returns. They also decide when to offer customers discounts on purchases.
Monitoring level of inventory stock displayed on shelves to facilitate restocking of out of stock items.
Being responsible for the overall cleanliness, upkeep and maintenance of a store.
Ordering new merchandise and ensure received items are properly displayed.
Escalating difficult customer complaints, as well as communicate other store issues to the Retail Supervisor to initiate resolution.
Balancing cash registers at the end of a shift and ensure sufficient change for the next shift.
Complying with established strategies to achieve sales objectives.
Building and maintaining positive trust relationship with customers.
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of products and services so as to effectively conduct sales with customers
Job Requirement
At least 1 year experience in the field of sales and marketing
Experience in sales/sales processes
Knowledge and understanding of the Retail trade from a service perspective
Retail sales candidates must have strong communication skills and work well with others.
They must also be courteous and efficient and maintain a tidy appearance.
College/university diploma and experience in sales.
A career in retail sales entails basic math and technology skills (experience on CCTV, internet, scanners, computer software/hardware…)
